oh my days what a terrible day :(

March 20th, 2013 at 07:49 pm

Well just as i thought i had things sorted i now have a flaw in my method Frown

my initial thoughts were i couldn't afford to save up an emergency fund ..so instead i leave the left over of my wages to build up (which isn't that much)

now my cars head gasket has gone and its going to cost £380 quid to fix arrggghhh!!!!

this expense is going to have to go on the credit card Frown having 2 children going without a car just isn't an option for me.

so now my initial thoughts are instead of paying off my lower debt, i pay the interest free payments on those and concentrate on paying all my snowball and snowflakes on my credit card as the interest rate is 39 per cent...!!!

feeling really down, felt like i was actually getting somewhere and now im getting more in debt.....i hope i sleep tonight its just more stress Frown

    sorry Frown
No, if a 39% debt is the only means of payment you have (and I really encourage you to try and find something else) then I'd definitely pay on that before anything of lower interest. That is pretty much loan shark rates. I'm sure it feels like one step forward, two steps back right now. We ALL have that happen, just keep on doing your best.

    It is frustrating. Sorry. Frown

Definately concentrate on your 39% rate debt first. Goodness, that is high!

    Oh that sucks!
Have you called the cc company to ask about a lower rate - you might get lucky. Or tell them that there is a hardship and maybe they will suspend the intrest from accruing for a few months. Do you have credit unions or another bank that will give you a better rate that you could transfer the balance to?

Thanks for your comments, yes i believe we do have credit unions maybe i should look into that, i wouldnt have thought about it without your comment!!...

when i left my husband he wanted to retain the house we owned, as i had contributed very little and he also put a £100,000 inheritance into the house then remortgaged the house to buy half a landrover garage (which i did not own shares in) i didnt want a penny!

Unfortunatley it was a year later i had the dreaded phone call about my mortgage being 1 year in arrears....I banked with the halifax so because i had both my current account and mortgage account with them i thought changing my address at the bank they should have automatically changed my address on the mortgage, but this didnt happen!!!!! he cut his nose off to spite his face and the house was repossessed....he is now the one having to pay the 50 grand shortfall as he had the money all along to pay and even rented out my house without my knowledge and spent the £600 a month rent money!! (the court did not like this and the debt now lies with him!!) his business was a limited company and he knew they couldnt touch that!! although this affected my credit score badly so the only credit i can get comes with a VERY BIG interest rate!!!!
